This is a simple home made sauce that can be used to compliment our cereals, pancakes or waffles or pound cakes, ice creams and milkshakes. A small pinch of salt brings out the earthy flavour of the cinnamon and nutmeg spices in this sauce. And using fresh apples and sugar helps keep the sauce for long when refrigerated.
Ingredients
Apples ……………………..2; cut into pieces
Sugar ……………………….1/2 cup
Water ………………………2 cups
Cornflour …………………..2 tablespoons
Cinnamon Powder ……….1 pinch
Nutmeg Powder ………….1 pinch
Salt …………………………1 pinch
Method
- Juice the apple pieces and water in a blender
- Sieve the pulp out and simmer the juice extract in low flame.
- Add sugar, cornflour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Boil for 5 minutes.
- Serve with warm waffles or pancakes.
Store it in a jar or sauce bottles. It keeps for over a month in the refrigerator.
